Bradley Cooper Biography

Bradley Cooper had fallen in love with film from the moment he watched his first movie as a child, growing up in a comfortable middle-class home he was able to enjoy the luxuries that many of his fellow Philadelphia natives did not enjoy. His father, Charlie Cooper earned a fairly large chunk of earnings that could support his family so Cooper’s mother Gloria Campano was left at home as a full-time mother. Besides wealth young Cooper boasted mixed and exotic heritage comprised of Italian, Irish and American blood, for this reason he became a heartthrob to many of his neighbourhood and school girls even when barely a teenager.

Cooper was brought up in his birth town of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA where he had been born on January 5 1975, for his education he went to the Germantown Academy, the Villanova University, the Georgetown University and the Actors Studio Drama School affiliated to the New School University. His upbringing was characterised by a strict adherence to the rules of Catholicism and an excellent track record at all his schools. Cooper was a child genius inclined to the arts and so for his college major he took on English Literature, in addition to this he followed a passion in acting through active involvement in the drama clubs as well as theatre productions in his local home town.

For Cooper it was a fairly easy transition into acting sing his talent on stage and a wealth of good looks served to his advantage by attracting not only fellow student fans but also coaches at his arts school. He had a couple of gigs as an actor in minor productions at the Actors Studio Drama School in Philadelphia before he ventured into a full-time professional career in 1999.

A talent scout searching for acts for an upcoming sitcom spotted Cooper during a school play at the arts school, he approached the young talent and after an introduction to the producers of the series Sex and the City Cooper was put on board for the project in 1998. Cooper’s performance in the series was welcomed by audiences and it paved way for bigger roles in films in the early 2000’s. In 2001 Cooper appeared in the debut role of Ben in the film Wet Hot American Summer, this was followed by other roles in My Little Eye in 2002, Carnival Knowledge also in 2002 and Wedding Crashers in 2005.

Meanwhile Cooper was filming for his most successful role yet as Will Tippin in the popular series Alias, the show premiered in 2001 and Cooper ‘s character portrayed a writer for a magazine who’s simple life was transformed to a fugitive after gangs of political criminals went all out to kill friends and family of his secret agent roommate named Sydney. He reprised his role in 46 episodes during which he rode on the fame of the series success to become one of the most popular actors.

Other film appearances by Cooper are in All About Steve, He's Just Not That into You, Older Than America, Rocker, Midnight Meat Train, Hangover and Yes Man. Cooper is currently filming for Hangover II set to be released in 2011.
